Flr1000 series uses impact turbine to determine gas flow rate. The turbine speed is linear in a large dynamic range. The photoelectric system consists of a diode that emits infrared light. Light energy is alternately reflected and absorbed by "spokes" deposited on small turbines. A photodiode is used to detect the reflected light energy. Therefore, when the turbine rotates under the action of gas velocity, the circuit will produce electric pulse. The signal processing circuit can provide DC voltage output proportional to the flow rate. For example, the output signal is 1.0 VDC at 20% of the rated flow rate, 2.5 VDC at 50% of the rated flow rate, 4.0 VDC at 80% of the rated flow rate, and 5.0 VDC at the rated flow rate. The sensor can handle a flow rate 20% higher than the rated flow rate without damage.
